The Servants of God Church of the Nazarene began the Rays of Hope project — a child development program that aims to meet the needs of 100 children living near the church.

Local teachers will regularly provide arts and crafts, help children with homework, and lead discipleship classes. There is also a team of cooks to prepare snacks, lunch, and dinner every Saturday. The project will last for one year and is sponsored by Sunday School and Discipleship Ministries.

Rays of Hope officially launched during the Mother’s Day and International Children’s Day celebration where 600 mothers and 650 children from more than 20 churches across the Nicaragua North District were recognized. During the celebration, church services featured hymns, recited Bible verses, music performances, competitions, and games.
