Each year, the nation of Vanuatu celebrates National Children’s Day on 24 July. The annual event allows families to spend extra time together to promote the welfare and well-being of children and to support the fight against child abuse.
The Church of the Nazarene in Vanuatu reached a significant milestone when Gideon Iawaki was appointed the first native Vanuatu district superintendent. Iawaki shared his journey and how God had been at work in his life.
Two cyclones devastated the island of Vanuatu in April. The disaster response team led by Nazarene Compassionate Ministries Asia-Pacific among others is distributing relief items to the various local churches and communities in Vanuatu.
The Vanuatu District recently sent its first team to the northern island of Espiritu Santo to begin establishing the Church of the Nazarene’s presence there. As a result, nearly 40 people accepted Christ.
