On Sunday, 7 January 2024, the La Paz District in Bolivia hosted its assembly at the Winchester Memorial Church of the Nazarene where Isai Murga was elected as the new superintendent for the district.
Herman Alcántara was appointed district superintendent of Central Bolivia on 10 March 2023. He currently serves as the coordinator of holistic ministries for Bolivia and as the superintendent of the Bolivia Santa Cruz District.
More than 800 young people from the El Alto Noroeste District in Bolivia gathered during the annual Carnaval, similar to Mardi Gras traditions in America, held 18-21 February.
Linda Spalding, 88, of Bastrop, Texas, passed away 17 October 2022. She was a retired missionary who served in Bolivia, Mexico, and Panama for 21 years alongside her husband, Tom Spalding.
A new church, Casa Nazarena, was organized in the city of Trinidad, Bolivia. The church, led by Pastors Gary and Jessica Olguín, had its sanctuary dedicated in memory of missionaries Larry and Judy Webb.
The Church of the Nazarene’s South America Region has held ordination services since October 2021 in different countries of the region, ordaining 253 men and women as pastors and deacons.
In commemoration of the 75 years of ministry of the Church of the Nazarene in Bolivia, a celebration week was organized by the various ministry leaders.
Larry Webb, 87, of Nampa, Idaho, passed away 7 November 2020. He was a retired missionary and minister who served in New Mexico, California, Barbados, and Bolivia.
Larry Webb spent over 30 years as a missionary to Bolivia, Barbados, and Ecuador. He has also spent the last 20 years of his retirement continuing to bring missions teams to those areas and impacting hundreds of people through his Mavericks Work & Witness teams.
