General Superintendent David W. Graves announced the election of W. Kyle Poole as superintendent of the Georgia District.

Elected 31 May on the first ballot, Poole replaces Roy E. Rogers, who is retiring after serving more than 18 years in the position. Poole will begin his new assignment 1 July.

Poole is currently the lead pastor at Midland Valley Community Church of the Nazarene in Graniteville, South Carolina, a position he has held since 2010. Prior to this, Poole served in Kansas, Texas, Alabama, and Tennessee, and has been the South Carolina District SDMI chair since 2015.

Poole received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Trevecca Nazarene College (now Trevecca Nazarene University) in 1991 and his Master of Divinity from Nazarene Theological Seminary in 1995.

“Julie and I are humbled and honored by the call to serve and by the trust of Georgia Nazarenes,” Poole said. “The harvest fields of Georgia are huge and we look forward to being part of connecting people to the hope of Christ in the heart of the South.”

Kyle and his wife, Julie, currently reside in Augusta, South Carolina.
